Which path are you on?

Divorce Recovery
You’ve signed the papers. But now what?
Just because the legal process is over doesn’t mean the loss and exhaustion disappear. I provide a place to vent about the lingering frustrations and help you stop second-guessing yourself, so you can actually start rebuilding your life on your own terms.

Therapy For Teens
You just want your happy kid back, but right now it feels like you’re losing them.
It’s hard to know what your teen is feeling when they won’t talk about it. I provide a space where they can get an adult opinion, without the power struggle. Together we work on finding the tools to manage the stress of everyday life, grow their self-esteem, and build resilience.

You want your relationship to change, but your partner isn’t ready.
You shouldn’t have to wait for your partner to be on board, before you can make your life better. I provide a place for you to express the frustrations of a difficult relationship, set boundaries that protect yourself, and gain certainty on your next steps, even if you’re the only one doing the work.

The world around you has been altered, and it’s not making sense.
Whether you are facing a career change, an end to your relationship, or a change in your family, it’s normal to feel like the old version of yourself is gone. I help you find your new path and gain understanding, so you can start moving forward again.
Hi, I’m April
I don’t know about you, but when I need to talk to someone about what’s going on, I don’t want a therapist who tells me to breathe deep or asks, ‘What feeling is showing up for you right now?”
I want someone who talks to me like a normal person and helps me figure out ways to cope that actually work
That’s why I focus on helping people adapt to the things they can’t change, and find the strength to change the things they can.
When people come to me, they often feel overwhelmed and hopeless, usually because they’re carrying too much at once, their relationship is suffering, or a major life shift has left them feeling like they don’t know how to adjust.
My job is to walk alongside you, helping your sort through all the things that are making you unhappy, and learn the skills you will need to change your mood and your life.
Whether you’re feeling anxious or hopeless about the future, trying to get through high school, or recovering from the end of a relationship, we work together to find a way forward that feels realistic to you.
My work stands on the belief that changes in life and relationships are inevitable. But that doesn’t mean they don’t affect you deeply. Healing comes from learning to accept the current reality, finding new ways to cope, and hoping for something better. As your therapist, holding onto hope is my job!
You may think of a therapist as someone who just sits back and nods. That’s not me. We are a team. I’ll ask some questions to help you gain insight, offer new perspectives, and help you find the things that are holding you back from living the life that you want. You get to call the shots and create your own goals. I’m just here to support you.

The past matters, and what you do in your current situation is even more important. Whether you’re in the midst of a difficult relationship, the turbulent teen years, or a major life event, we look for changes you can make to your daily life and coping strategies to get you through this time of uncertainty.

My goal is to help you find your limits and your voice. I provide a place for you to unload everything that’s causing you to hurt, but I also give you the tools to start piecing your life back together, and find your identity.
Insurance & Fees
I know finding a therapist who “clicks” is only half the battle, you also need to know it works financially.
To keep things transparent, here is where I currently stand with insurance:
I am currently In-Network with:
If you are with a different insurance company, I can provide a “superbill” for you to submit to them for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
If this feels like the right fit, please schedule a consultation or intake session today.
FAQ
When clients first come to therapy, I recommend they come weekly for the first 6-8 sessions, and then we will reassess. Therapy works best with regular attendance. Clients who are progressing may feel more comfortable switching to bi-weekly sessions.
Most sessions will be between 45 and 55 minutes long.
I offer both in-person and virtual appointments. In person appointments take place at my office in Blaine, MN, and virtual appointments take place on my HIPAA compliant patient portal.
That’s completely okay. Many people come to therapy unsure of where to start. Sometimes we talk about what brought you in, other times we talk about how your week has been going. I’ll help guide the conversation with questions and reflections so you don’t feel overwhelmed by silence. If we really have a hard time picking a topic, I have a fishbowl with wonderful insightful questions to ask.
There are many ways you can request an appointment. You can:
