My Story

Hello!
Many people come to me at life’s worst moments. Perhaps it’s the end of a relationship, losing a job, feeling unmotivated, having lost all confidence, or not feeling like the person you want to be. It’s hard to find hope in times like this.
I specialize in working with people who are navigating uncertainty and worry. You’re not sure where life is taking you, and the things that have happened were not part of your plan.
Together, we’ll figure out where you got sidetracked, and find a way to get you moving in the right direction again.

My Approach
I approach my clients with humility, compassion, hope and sometimes a little humor. I welcome you to show up, just as you are, and I will do the same.
My work is grounded in evidence-based practices. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you manage the difficult, everyday things, and Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy to help you rewrite your story and figure out where you’re headed next.
My Beliefs
I believe that most people in life aren’t truly stuck, they just don’t have the courage and confidence to think of ALL of the possibilities. That’s where I come in, I help you find the strength and resilience to make life different.
As a person, I have had my own share of hard things, and sure it sucks in the moment, but with each one, I have learned things about life and myself.

During the last fifteen years, I have had the opportunity to do in-home therapy with children, teens, and adults, as well as working with a group practice, serving clients ages 5-75. The depth of knowledge I have about human development and relationship comes from previous experience as an educator, master’s level coursework, and in the field experience over the past two decades.
During my spare time, I am a proud member of the Anoka County Children’s Mental Health Advisory and Coordination Committee. At home, I enjoy creating art, baking, and spending time with my three-year-old son.

” You find your home, and it may not be what you thought, you know; color’s off, style’s wrong…but there it is anyway and to hell with you if you can’t take a joke.”
-Susan Surandon, Moonlight Mile (2002).
Life rarely turns out the way we planned. That doesn’t mean it can’t still be beautiful. So much of therapy is about learning to find comfort in places we didn’t expect, and with a little honesty and a little humor, we often end up exactly where we’re meant to be.
If anything here felt like you, I’d love to connect.
