In-Network
I am an in-network provider with the major commercial insurance plans in Minnesota. I handle all claim submissions on my end so you don’t have to deal with the paperwork.

What to ask your insurance provider
Every insurance plan is a little different, and the easiest way to avoid a surprise bill is to know your numbers before your first session. Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask them these three exact questions:
“Do I have a deductible for outpatient mental health visits, and how much is left to meet it?” (If you haven’t met it, you will pay the insurance-negotiated rate out of pocket until it’s met.)
“Once my deductible is met, what is my exact copay or coinsurance amount per session?” (This is the fixed amount you will owe at each visit.)
“Does my plan cover telehealth sessions?”
Private Pay &
Out-of-Network
If you don’t have the insurance plans listed above, or if you prefer not to use your insurance for privacy reasons, you can pay out of pocket.
Initial Intake / First Session: $160
Standard Therapy Session (50 minutes): $160
Using Out-of-Network Benefits: If your insurance is with a different provider (like Health Partners), I can provide you with a monthly receipt called a “Superbill.” You can submit this directly to your insurance company, and depending on your plan, they may reimburse you for a portion of the cost.
FAQ
I offer both. You can see me in person at my office located at 1521 93rd Lane NE, Suite 100, Blaine, MN 55449 (right off Highway 65).
I also provide secure virtual telehealth appointments for anyone living anywhere in the state of Minnesota.
Standard therapy sessions are typically 45 to 53 minutes long.
A Superbill is an itemized receipt for your therapy sessions. If I do not take your specific insurance, you pay my standard private pay rate of $160 at the time of your session. I can then provide you with this monthly receipt, which you submit directly to your insurance company. Depending on your plan’s out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse you for a portion of that $160 out-of-pocket cost.
If you need to change your appointment, I ask that you give me at least 48 hours’ notice. Because that time slot is reserved exclusively for you, the following fees apply if proper notice isn’t given:
Late Cancellation (less than 48 hours’ notice): $130
No-Show (missing the session with no notice): $160
Our first official session is an intake appointment. We won’t just jump into the deepest issues right away. Instead, we’ll review your background, and talk about what is currently going on in your life. The goal is to get a clear picture of what you want to work on and figure out how we can achieve that together.
There is no set number of sessions for every client. Some people come in with a specific, short-term issue and get what they need in a few months. Others prefer coming ongoing, long-term support to process deeper challenges. We will check in regularly to see how you’re feeling and adjust our plan based on what is working for you.
Therapy is deeply personal, and the relationship between you and your therapist matters more than any specific technique. If we start working together and you feel like we aren’t a good match, that is completely okay. You will not hurt my feelings. If that happens, just let me know. I want you to get the help you actually need, and I am more than happy to help connect you with other local trusted professionals who might be a better fit for your goals.
